When Mark Bowens asked me to perform live for the first time since the pandemic, I was anxious. I was looking for reasons to decline the offer. It’s been almost two years since my last stage performance, after achieving sobriety from alcohol. While I’ve played 10-20 shows a year for the last two decades without any nervous vibes or anxiety, this time was different. Nervousness took over my mind. However, I couldn’t resist my eagerness to be back on the stage where I’ve always been comfortable and where I can express myself best. So, I’ll be performing on May 27th at McCoys in Olympia with a lineup of talented artists. I can’t decide if I should tell you not to come in case I fail, or urge you to pack the place beyond capacity. Nevertheless, I’ll be there, sharing my art through beats and rhymes. Thank you for letting me express myself. Check out the event page in the comments! – Afrok
